Number 13 was not good for me in Oes Tsetnoc. First today I realized that from certain countries people don’t see my entry on the first position but on third or forth. However good percent of people see this site on the position one, at least until tonight when SamayLive announced Oes Tsetnoc contest and Google showed indented news listing on the top. I am guessing that since it is news portal that will not last long but who knows. Mysterious are the Google roads.
Currently there is 16 500 indexed pages and counting. Comparing to Sulumits Retsambew it’s almost double less, which means people not joined to this contest in larger numbers. Let’s hope more will come in the future days.
Public figures on Promo Junkie forum are saying that there is 61 contestants.
I stopped work on this entry for last 2 days because lack of time, but certainly I will explode during the beginning of the next month. So lets keep this position until that with minimum of work.
And yes I did not yet implemented that apostrophe fix. You see this post is full of double apostrophes 
Since this Oes Tsetnoc site jumped to position one I decided to share first round of stats, not so detailed one. Stats are general and basically are almost not telling us anything. Next stats will be published at the end of the month:

Currently this site is holding first place on the Google, number 16 on Yahoo and N/A on Bing, luckily last two ones are sucky search engines

Our Alexa rank is 3 704 746 and raising.
We have 15 indexed pages on Google and 6 indexed pages on Yahoo.
We have 204 backlinks on Google and 610 backlinks on Yahoo.
We have 350 visits and 750 views in the first 11 days.
Most visitors came from India then Bosnia and USA.
Oes Tsetnoc site generated 770 impressions on Google Adsense and earned zero bucks.
Thats about it. I have yet to implement doubling apostrophe fix, image optimization and then to add some images.
Yes Oes Tsetnoc is ranked first on Google since this morning. I needed 11 days to accomplish this. Competition looks harder then in Sulumits Retsambew even few strong competitors from Sulumits are not in the Oes Tsetnoc search engine optimization contest. Probably my friends deserving thanks for this position . Its becoming enjoyment to work on something which become recognized not only from search engines but from people too. I must admit I got that flame again . I announced possible quiting from the contest if my position improve, but that is only because I see when I am doing futile efforts and I hate being inefficient.
Google indexed Eleven thousand pages (11 000), which is already much better then few smaller contests I saw.
Bad thing in the contest is that people are not so active on the oes tsetnoc contest forum, they are playing but are not involved in the Buzz around it.

I noticed that I experience doubling apostrophes on my certain blogs. After I researched this I concluded that doubling apostrophes is only happening on WordPress blog located on same server. After further researching I concluded that Magic Quotes are causing this.
So problem is not WordPress related but server related, and magic quotes are something normally turned on shared hostings because of security issues. In new versions of PHP magic quotes will not exists anymore.
Luckily we can disable the magic quotes on one of the following ways. If you are running SUexec you would need to edit php.ini and if your host don’t have SUexec running then you can probably turn of by adding certain values to your .htaccess file.
.htaccess turning of is easy. Just open your .htaccess and add the following line
php_flag magic_quotes_gpc off
save the file and voila everything works. However on certain host this will not work and you will get the server error. Solution is to edit php.ini, and since you are on shared hosting you can’t do that, so you will create the php.ini file with the following line.
magic_quotes_gpc = Off
Now save the file and copy it to all folders that use php scripts. It’s a lot of job but once you finish it your posts and apostrophes will stop doubling.

Here is day 10 of Oes Tsetnoc seo contest. And after bad start we are finally advancing as expected. Yesterday this site jumped to position 5, this morning it jumped to position 4 and now we are second.
Nice. Now I only need to think of how to overtake that exact match .com. I noticed that slideshare is incredible strong, maybe strongest of all web 2.0 sites, I made simple slideshow and its already on the 5th position.
Google show now 9390 indexed pages, new people is joining in and competition will be tougher and tougher.
I converted Net Builders banner to lead referral link so I can see will this contest entry give any members to the best webmasters forum around. Off course since now I am near the top that have sense. Since visits will now double for the asked Oes Tsetnoc keyword.
